Beyond Oriental ResidenceBeyond Oriental ResidenceBeyond Oriental Residence is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully blends modern luxury with traditional Oriental aesthetics, spanning 365 square meters in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The design's centerpiece is a meticulously crafted Japanese tea room that serves as both a welcoming space and a symbolic representation of the traditional tea ceremony philosophy of One Encounter, One Chance. This sophisticated dwelling seamlessly integrates seven private suites with bathrooms while maintaining optimal spatial flow and family privacy. The interior's distinctive features include an entrance foyer adorned with expressive light and shadow elements, a striking black and gold wall complemented by a dark bronze Guanyin sculpture, and an innovative arc-shaped bar fashioned from tea mirrors with polygonal cuts. The material palette demonstrates refined luxury through the thoughtful application of stainless steel, marble, thin rock slabs, woodwork, titanium-plated metal, and mirrors. The design's spatial organization creates a harmonious flow between three major public domains - the tea house, living room, and dining room - while the private spaces are strategically divided to accommodate different family dynamics. This exceptional project, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases a sophisticated transition between Japanese, Chinese, and classic design elements, resulting in a space that embodies both cultural reverence and contemporary elegance. The design's success lies in its ability to balance conservative Oriental sentiments with modern refinement, creating an environment that honors traditional aesthetics while meeting the practical needs of contemporary living.
