A Full Circle ResidenceA Full Circle ResidenceA Full Circle Residence is an award-winning architectural interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of circular forms and natural elements within a residential space. Completed in February 2021 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, this 112-square-meter residence, designed by Jhih-Yong Jhang and Wen-Fang Yang, showcases an innovative approach to spatial arrangement through the sophisticated use of curved lines and circular motifs. The design's cornerstone features include an oval-shaped lighting system that creates infinite reflections, complemented by floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light. The interior architecture demonstrates exceptional attention to material selection, incorporating wooden walls that seamlessly connect to the floor, while natural wood grain patterns enhance the space's elegance and comfort. A notable design element is the recessed circular ceiling with integrated lighting, which effectively delineates the living and dining areas while maintaining spatial fluidity. The project's minimalist aesthetic approach emphasizes the natural textures of materials without excessive decoration, creating a sophisticated living environment that prioritizes user experience. The irregular dining table design, transitioning from a perfect circle to a square shape, serves as a clever connector between the kitchen and living areas. The color palette juxtaposes cool tones of dark blue and white against warm wooden elements, contributing to a clean, contemporary atmosphere. This residential design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a thoughtful approach to sustainable living through its emphasis on material longevity and spatial efficiency, while symbolizing family unity through its circular motifs and cohesive design language.
