Haimen Agricultural Exhibition HallHaimen Agricultural Exhibition HallHaimen Agricultural Exhibition Hall is an architecturally significant structure located within China's premier ecological farm, embodying a harmonious blend of traditional agricultural symbolism and contemporary design principles. The building, spanning 4,000 square meters across four floors, draws its architectural inspiration from the archetypal imagery of traditional barns and granaries in agricultural civilization, featuring a distinctive square exterior shell housing a circular internal core. The structure's innovative design employs UHPC (Ultra-High Performance Concrete) material for its outer skin, creating a jade-like warmth that emphasizes the building's sharp geometrical lines while maintaining a soft, ethereal quality up close. The exhibition hall's architectural composition breaks conventional structural paradigms through four concrete square boxes that orbit around a central atrium, with a sophisticated folded plate roof design incorporating extensive top-floor fenestration. The interior space is thoughtfully organized around a central void that introduces natural lighting and ventilation, while rotating open staircases create a dynamic vertical circulation pattern that enhances the visitor experience. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project, completed in 2021, exemplifies critical regionalism in contemporary architecture, successfully bridging traditional Wu and Yue cultural elements with modern architectural innovations. The design's sophisticated approach to spatial organization, material selection, and cultural integration demonstrates exceptional architectural acumen, creating a meaningful dialogue between agricultural heritage and contemporary exhibition space requirements.
