Urban Renewal Exploration Centre Urban Renewal

Urban Renewal Exploration Centre Urban Renewal is an innovative exhibition space designed to address and illuminate Hong Kong's housing challenges while showcasing urban renewal initiatives and their community benefits. This comprehensive facility, spanning 237 square meters with an additional 204-square-meter conference room, employs cutting-edge digital technology and interactive multimedia installations to create an engaging educational experience. The design integrates sophisticated technological elements including iBeacon-enabled E-Tour Guide systems, Augmented Reality experiences, Kinect gaming platforms, and the UR Info Hub with multi-touch tables to present complex urban development concepts in an accessible format. The space is strategically divided into exhibition and activity areas, featuring dialogue-friendly designs that enable visitors to experience the challenges of old district living conditions through immersive technology. The exhibition's systematic presentation of seven urban renewal projects is enhanced by smart technology that allows visitors to engage with automatically fed information via iPads along designated routes. This Iron A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category demonstrates exceptional innovation in spatial design and technological integration, achieving remarkable public engagement with a 95.8% satisfaction rate among visitors. The design's flexible infrastructure accommodates content updates and modifications, ensuring long-term relevance while maintaining cost-effectiveness, while its comprehensive approach to urban renewal education combines physical mock-ups, digital interfaces, and interactive elements to create a multi-layered learning environment that effectively communicates complex urban development concepts to diverse audience groups.
