Urban Oasis LobbyUrban Oasis LobbyUrban Oasis Lobby is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the conventional office lobby concept by integrating biophilic elements and creating a harmonious blend of nature and urban architecture. Conceived in 2019 and completed in Shanghai, China, this 370-square-meter space represents a sophisticated response to the growing need for natural elements in corporate environments, particularly highlighted during the global stay-at-home period of 2020. The design, created by Martin Chow and Alline Wang, strategically divides the expansive space into three distinct functional zones: a casual front area featuring thoughtfully arranged stone seating adjacent to the reception counter, a central common area anchored by a striking oil painting that serves as a focal point for gatherings, and a lift lobby distinguished by signature hanging lights. The project's material palette combines premium leather upholstery, carefully selected fabrics, glass elements, and metallic accents, creating a refined aesthetic that balances luxury with comfort. The design philosophy emphasizes the importance of creating not merely a transitional space but a dynamic environment that encourages idea exchange and casual interaction among office workers. The layout ingeniously preserves primary circulation routes while incorporating various seating arrangements and abundant greenery, effectively transforming the lobby into an urban oasis that promotes wellbeing and productivity. This innovative approach to corporate interior design earned the project a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, recognizing its excellence in spatial design, material selection, and functional innovation.
