Under The Bodhi Tree Residential ApartmentUnder The Bodhi Tree Residential ApartmentUnder the Bodhi Tree Residential Apartment is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of spiritual philosophy and contemporary living spaces. Located in Taichung, Taiwan, this 114-square-meter apartment, completed in December 2020, draws profound inspiration from Buddha's enlightenment experience, manifesting principles of calmness, simplicity, and openness throughout its design. The interior architecture is distinguished by its sophisticated use of three primary elements: wood, brass, and black finishes, creating a cohesive visual narrative throughout the space. The design's innovative approach to spatial organization eliminates unnecessary partition walls, replacing them with thoughtfully positioned furniture and screens to maximize the living area while maintaining functional distinction. A notable feature is the minimalist Buddha hall, which emanates a warm, ethereal glow that serves as both a spiritual focal point and an inviting element of the space. The apartment's material palette is dominated by three-dimensional wooden structures that adorn the walls, ceilings, and floors, creating a sense of depth and continuity throughout the interior. Each wooden panel exhibits unique, natural grain patterns, contributing to an organic aesthetic that bridges the gap between indoor living spaces and the natural environment. The layout encompasses an entry corridor, living room, dining room, bedroom, bathroom, guest toilet, and a sky outdoor garden, all unified by an earthy color scheme that reinforces the project's timeless character. This exceptional design, created by Joyce Yi-Ching Yang, was honored with the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its outstanding contribution to residential interior design innovation and its successful integration of spiritual elements with contemporary living requirements.
