Qiong Niang Baijiu Packaging

Qiong Niang Baijiu Packaging is an innovative alcoholic beverage packaging design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of cultural heritage and contemporary design aesthetics, created by designers Evan Chen, Lei Zhang, and Tian Dong. This sophisticated packaging solution, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, masterfully incorporates abstract representations of Qionglai's iconic Bell and Drum Tower and regional topography into its visual narrative. The design's distinguishing feature lies in its ingenious use of layered, translucent special paper that creates a mesmerizing visual effect when light passes through the bottle, evoking the majestic Tiantai Mountains of Qionglai. Measuring 210mm x 80mm x 80mm, the packaging's technical innovation is evident in its careful consideration of paper thickness and translucency, resulting in a tactile experience that engages consumers through its textured surface. The design pays homage to the geographical and cultural significance of Qionglai, situated at the eastern foot of the Hengduan Mountains, where the unique microclimate and glacial meltwater rich in potassium and strontium contribute to the distinctive character of the baijiu within. This packaging design successfully communicates the product's premium positioning while celebrating its status as a National Geographical Indication product of China, effectively bridging traditional cultural elements with contemporary design sensibilities through its sophisticated use of materials, thoughtful construction, and meaningful symbolic references.
