Monza Table Pendulum ClockMonza Table Pendulum ClockMonza Table Pendulum Clock is a sophisticated mechanical timepiece that exemplifies the fusion of traditional horology with contemporary Italian design aesthetics, drawing inspiration from the dynamic forms and motifs of the 1970s automotive era. This innovative table clock features a distinctive radiator-like appearance and employs a groundbreaking construction technique where traditional metal plates are replaced with two hardened crystal glass discs, incorporating welded stainless bushes that elegantly showcase the skeleton mechanism. Created by designers Alessandro Rigotto and Enrico Ferraris, this 15-day spring-driven pendulum clock utilizes planetary gearing and a Graham deadbeat escapement, demonstrating exceptional technical sophistication. The timepiece's construction incorporates hand mirror-polished brass gears with Rhodium plating, while stainless steel columns, arbors, and pinions undergo meticulous hand mirror polishing. Notable technical innovations include the use of hermetically sealed ball bearings in place of traditional rubies, ensuring smoother operation and reduced friction. The clock's case, crafted from chromed solid wood and adorned with hand-sewn red leather exterior and black Alcantara interior for sound absorption, measures 675mm in width, 200mm in depth, and 420mm in height. The design's transgressive case shape challenges conventional manufacturing limitations while celebrating Italian craftsmanship and horological tradition, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Limited Edition and Custom Design category for its innovative approach to timepiece design and exceptional execution.
