Cobra Pendant LightCobra Pendant LightCobra Pendant Light is an innovative lighting fixture that exemplifies the harmonious intersection between functional illumination and artistic expression, designed by Catarina Santos and her team. This sophisticated pendant light installation draws inspiration from the fluid, serpentine form of a cobra, creating a compelling dialogue between nature and artificial lighting. The design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, features a modular construction composed of quarter circles, octaves of circle, and a straight linear segment, crafted from precision-bent aluminum sheets with a textured matte finish. The fixture spans an impressive 9000mm in length, with a curve radius of 1245mm and a straight section of 850mm, incorporating advanced LED technology that delivers 45,650 lumens at 3000K color temperature. The innovative design integrates HV5 LED Fortimo technology and Xitanium drivers, complemented by a curved polycarbonate diffuser with a clip attachment system, offering the option for Tunable white Casambi control integration. Originally conceived for installation alongside an interior garden setting, this lighting solution transcends mere functionality to become an art installation that prompts reflection on the relationship between artificial illumination and natural elements. The design addresses contemporary concerns about responsible manufacturing and consumption while exploring the profound connection between light and vision, human beings and nature. Its sophisticated engineering allows for downward light projection along its entire length, activated through motion sensors, creating an interactive lighting experience that combines technical excellence with ecological consciousness.
