Expobay Office ShowroomExpobay Office ShowroomExpobay Office Showroom is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of indoor and outdoor workspace concepts, completed in 2021 in Shenzhen, China. This 600-square-meter showroom space revolutionizes traditional office design through its distinctive use of three independent cubic glass boxes housing the front hall, meeting room, and management offices, creating an intriguing interplay between privacy and transparency. The design's philosophical foundation rests on challenging conventional office space stereotypes by seamlessly blending technology with nature, and privacy with publicity. The space features sophisticated material choices, including terrazzo, anti-fire board with terrazzo finish, green tempered glass, and stainless steel, all working in concert to create a cohesive aesthetic experience. A central design element includes a dramatic green glass box suspended above a gray slate wall in the lobby, complemented by a strategically placed large tree in the lounge area, establishing a visual dialogue between artificial and natural elements. The flowing internal space beyond the glass boxes is deliberately designed to evoke an outdoor atmosphere, maintaining the building's raw concrete texture throughout the ceiling, floor, and walls. A distinctive undulating hillside feature adjacent to the open staff office area appears as a floating element within the concrete-enclosed space, adding dynamic visual interest. This innovative approach to office space design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its exceptional contribution to contemporary workplace design.
