Pinkishness WorkshopPinkishness WorkshopPinkishness Workshop is an innovative interior design project completed in November 2021 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of aesthetic beauty and functional commercial space design. This 64-square-meter nail salon, designed by Jia-Ru Chen and Te-Chih Lo, showcases a sophisticated interpretation of contemporary spatial design through its distinctive use of pink color palettes and neoclassical elements. The design's conceptual framework centers on creating a dreamy, whimsical atmosphere while maintaining professional service standards, achieved through the masterful integration of various pink hues that embody dual personalities - that of the owner and the designer - resulting in an unconventional yet elegant aesthetic expression. The space features carefully curated architectural elements, including multilayer arches, curved lighting straps, and thoughtfully designed shutters, complemented by premium imported tiles and herringbone-patterned wooden flooring that creates compelling visual layering effects. The design's sophisticated approach to space utilization is evident in its white rounded doorway entrance, which establishes a cohesive visual language repeated throughout the interior in the counter, service area, and display shelving. This project, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2022, demonstrates exceptional expertise in combining practical functionality with artistic vision, featuring strategic lighting integration that enhances the textural interplay while effectively delineating different functional zones within the open-plan layout. The design's success lies in its ability to create a spacious, luminous environment that not only serves its commercial purpose but also delivers an immersive aesthetic experience that elevates the conventional concept of a nail salon to a sophisticated sanctuary of beauty and design.
