The Eclectic Of Yogyakarta OfficeThe Eclectic Of Yogyakarta OfficeThe Eclectic of Yogyakarta Office is an innovative interior design project that masterfully blends modern office aesthetics with traditional Indonesian cultural elements, creating a distinctive workspace environment in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This 1,349-square-meter office space, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies a sophisticated approach to cultural fusion in contemporary workplace design. The project's conceptual framework revolves around harmonizing global contemporary office standards with local cultural intimacy, manifested through thoughtful integration of traditional Javanese elements such as Batik patterns, Wayang puppetry motifs, and indigenous materials including Andesite stone, Tegel Kunci tiles, and woven bamboo. The design accommodates 222 staff members and includes 48 additional training room seats, featuring carefully planned spaces such as a lobby, meeting rooms, cafeteria, prayer room, medical facility, and technical support areas. A particularly notable aspect of the design is its cafeteria, which draws inspiration from traditional Indonesian markets, incorporating authentic elements such as exposed brickwork, traditional lanterns, rattan baskets, and vintage Onthel bicycles. The project's success lies in its ability to maintain a contemporary professional atmosphere while seamlessly incorporating cultural touchstones, demonstrated through the strategic placement of traditional artifacts and the innovative use of local materials. The design's spatial organization optimizes workflow efficiency while creating an engaging, culturally rich environment that supports modern work practices. This achievement in interior design, completed between September and November 2020, represents a significant contribution to the evolution of workplace design in Southeast Asia, demonstrating how cultural heritage can be preserved and celebrated within a modern corporate setting.
