YY Sports Fitness ClubYY Sports Fitness ClubYY Sports Fitness Club is an innovative fitness facility and interior design project located in Shenyang, China, representing a groundbreaking approach to contemporary athletic spaces. Situated on the top floor of a prominent sports retail establishment in the city's busiest commercial district, this 2000-square-meter facility exemplifies the intersection of post-modern design philosophy and functional fitness architecture. Designed by Arthur Yang and Xin An Zhou, the space challenges traditional fitness center aesthetics by incorporating elements inspired by 1960s post-human concepts, exploring the relationship between technology and human physicality. The design employs sophisticated materials including stainless steel, glass, artificial wood, fire-retardant cloth, and rock cotton, complemented by immersive LED screens and terrazzo flooring. The project's distinctive feature lies in its innovative use of 3D modeling and printing technologies to create realistic post-human aesthetic elements, demonstrating a unique fusion of artificial and natural design elements. The interior space was meticulously developed through comprehensive site investigation and computer-aided design processes, ensuring optimal spatial functionality while maintaining its avant-garde aesthetic appeal. Completed between February and May 2021, the project garnered international recognition by winning the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its exceptional contribution to contemporary fitness facility design. The space serves as a testament to the evolution of fitness environments, where technological integration and human-centered design principles converge to create an immersive exercise experience.
