Jiao Vase and Aromatherapy is an innovative multifunctional design piece that seamlessly combines decorative and therapeutic functions in contemporary interior spaces. Created by designers Jiang Mengjiao and Liu Miao, this versatile container represents a sophisticated fusion of traditional vase aesthetics with modern aromatherapy applications, drawing inspiration from classic doorplates and wine bottle designs of 1990s China. The piece, measuring 150mm in width, 65mm in depth, and 150mm in height, is distinguished by its adaptable mounting options, allowing for both wall-mounted and desktop placement. Manufactured using advanced 3D printing technology, the design employs materials such as PLA and ABS, featuring customizable color options and surface treatments, including a distinctive mirror effect achieved through a specialized silver spray paint application process. This innovative approach to surface finishing involves a meticulous two-stage painting technique, where high-pressure spray paint is applied first to the interior and then to the exterior surfaces. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2022, exemplifies the contemporary trend toward multifunctional home accessories that combine practical utility with artistic expression. Its versatile nature allows it to adapt to various interior styles, making it particularly suitable for artistic and personalized home environments. The project, developed between April 2021 and February 2022 in Hangzhou, demonstrates a thoughtful approach to modern interior accessories that balance aesthetic appeal with practical functionality.
