Iron Ore Center Production CommandIron Ore Center Production CommandIron Ore Center Production Command is an innovative architectural transformation project that exemplifies sustainable adaptive reuse of industrial heritage, converting a 50-year-old abandoned workshop into an intelligent management center. This remarkable interior design project, created by Saiwen Liu, masterfully integrates historical elements with modern functionality across its 2,373 square meters. The design draws profound inspiration from underground iron ore tunnels, incorporating distinctive arch styling and utilizing the characteristic grey tones of ironstone throughout the space. A sophisticated lighting system, featuring 4000K20W LED anti-glare tube lights and strategic 4x8 linear lighting arrangements, creates a metaphorical time tunnel that bridges the past and present while ensuring optimal operational conditions. The project addresses multiple complex challenges, including the modification of the original 15.6-meter storey height through the addition of a transition layer that reduces the hall height to 7 meters for improved energy efficiency. The design employs a bilateral shunting technique to minimize visitor interference with control operations while simultaneously preparing for the facility's future transition into an industrial legacy museum. This forward-thinking approach, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional consideration for both immediate functional requirements and long-term adaptability. The integration of indoor garden elements seamlessly connects interior and exterior spaces, while the careful attention to lighting design and spatial organization creates an environment that balances operational efficiency with aesthetic appeal.
