Deng Long Ji Alcoholic Beverage PackagingDeng Long Ji Alcoholic Beverage PackagingDeng Long Ji Alcoholic Beverage Packaging is an innovative packaging design that reimagines traditional Chinese lantern aesthetics for contemporary wine presentation, exemplifying the fusion of cultural heritage with modern design sensibilities. Created by designers Wen Liu, Qiumin Chen, and Weijie Kang, this distinctive packaging solution challenges conventional Western-centric wine packaging paradigms by incorporating traditional Chinese cultural elements in a contemporary context. The design's primary structure consists of a decorative firing acrylic box measuring 109.02mm x 109.02mm x 280.5mm, housing a carefully crafted glass bottle with dimensions of 87.4mm x 87.4mm x 247.1mm. The packaging's form draws direct inspiration from traditional Chinese lanterns, which have long symbolized prosperity and celebration in Chinese culture, while incorporating sophisticated window flower patterns on the bottle cap to enhance its cultural authenticity and visual appeal. This design approach represents a significant departure from traditional wine packaging conventions, establishing a new aesthetic language that bridges Eastern and Western design sensibilities. The project, which was developed between August 2019 and January 2020 in Shenzhen, China, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution, from the thoughtful deconstruction of lantern forms to the integration of contemporary Chinese design elements. The packaging design has been recognized for its excellence, receiving a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to cultural representation and functional design. The project successfully creates a unique cultural ecosystem around wine packaging, breaking conventional consumer perceptions while maintaining practical functionality and aesthetic sophistication.
