Trinity Street FurnitureTrinity Street FurnitureTrinity Street Furniture is an innovative urban design solution that reimagines public seating by creating harmonious spaces for adults, children, and animals to coexist in urban environments. Conceived by designers Feray Unlu and Ipek Memikoglu, this modular street furniture system employs a sophisticated circular arrangement that promotes social interaction while respecting personal space. The design features concrete and iron mesh construction, chosen for their durability and maintenance-friendly properties, with seating units positioned at different heights to accommodate various users. The primary structure consists of concrete units measuring 56 cm in diameter with a 75 cm base and 45 cm height, complemented by lower iron seating elements designed specifically for children. A distinguishing feature is the integration of animal-friendly spaces beneath the seating units, which serve as shelters and include dedicated water bowls with a 33 cm diameter. The modular system can be arranged in complete circles with a 370 cm diameter, creating inclusive community spaces. The design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Street and City Furniture Design category, incorporates thoughtful elements such as void spaces in the iron mesh that create engaging shadow play patterns and facilitate interaction between children and animals. The sustainable design approach emphasizes durability, cleanability, and adaptability to seasonal changes through its strategic use of solid and void surfaces, making it particularly suitable for year-round outdoor installation in urban environments.
