Next 1 Landscapes

Next 1 Landscapes is an innovative architectural landscape design project completed in September 2020 in Taichung, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates geometric linear frames with overlapping depth-of-field design techniques to create a harmonious blend of virtual and reality in residential spaces. Designed by Fu-Chu Hsu, this 2,300-square-meter project exemplifies a sophisticated approach to contemporary landscape architecture, employing curved street surfaces and multi-layered planting designs that transform seasonally. The design philosophy centers on creating a humanistic living environment that pays homage to traditional village life while incorporating modern aesthetic principles. The project's distinctive features include geometric framed scenery, strategically placed mirror reflections to enhance spatial perception, and stepped grass slopes that contribute to its artistic charm. The landscape design demonstrates environmental consciousness through its low-impact land development methodology, incorporating extensive layered plantings and pool settings to regulate microclimate and reduce energy consumption. Winner of the Iron A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category, this project stands out for its innovative approach to addressing spatial constraints while creating an engaging public realm.
