Quix BrandingQuix BrandingQuix Branding is an innovative visual identity system for self-service vending machines that masterfully integrates Italian design heritage with contemporary functionality. Developed in 2020 by designer Anja Zambelli Colak, this comprehensive branding solution addresses the challenge of elevating quick-service refreshments through sophisticated design language that pays homage to Italy's golden age of design. The visual identity system encompasses a carefully curated palette of colors, textures, and forms that evoke the essence of Italian coffee culture, creating an immersive brand experience that transcends the traditional limitations of vending machine interactions. The design successfully bridges the gap between automated service and cultural authenticity, implementing Italian aesthetic principles across multiple touchpoints including custom-designed coffee cups (available in 46x60mm and 59x110mm sizes), metal coffee boxes (12x18cm), and branded machine surfaces utilizing printed foil technology. This sophisticated approach earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, acknowledging its excellence in solving complex market challenges while appealing to a diverse demographic ranging from Generation Z students to Baby Boomer professionals. The project's strategic implementation of offset printing and CMYK color technology demonstrates a practical understanding of cost-effective production methods while maintaining premium brand positioning, effectively transforming ordinary vending locations into curated spaces that channel the relaxed ambiance of traditional Italian cafes.
