Equi Temple Equestrian ArenaEqui Temple Equestrian ArenaEqui Temple Equestrian Arena is an architecturally distinctive sports facility that exemplifies the harmonious integration of traditional materials with contemporary design principles, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design. This innovative structure, designed by architect Polina Nozdracheva, combines sports, technological, recreational, and representative functions within a rectangular parallelepiped form that draws inspiration from ancient temple architecture. The arena's most striking features include its arc-shaped constructional elements crafted from glued wood, which establish the building's primary rhythmic spatial concept, and its extensive glazed facades that seamlessly blend interior and exterior spaces. Rising to a height of 12.5 meters and encompassing 2,150 square meters, the facility accommodates a 65x25-meter riding arena designed for year-round equestrian activities. The structure's environmental consciousness is evident in its extensive use of wood as the primary building material, with concrete limited to foundations and exterior staircases for safety compliance. The design's sophisticated approach to natural integration is reflected in its color scheme, featuring golden wood tones and emerald-gray roof slopes that echo the surrounding pine forest landscape. The facility's functional layout includes separate circulation paths for horses, athletes, and spectators, with a thoughtfully designed two-level arrangement featuring a balcony for judges and spectators, demonstrating exceptional attention to both practical requirements and aesthetic considerations. The arena's technological sophistication ensures optimal humidity and temperature control throughout the year, while its striking silhouette, created by the interplay of massive wooden frames and far-projecting eaves, presents a memorable architectural statement that appears to hover above the landscape.
