My Smoking Jackets Residential HouseMy Smoking Jackets Residential HouseMy Smoking Jackets Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully combines a fashion design studio with living quarters, exemplifying the contemporary fusion of work and living spaces. This sophisticated LOFT-style dwelling, designed by Ya-Jung Yvane Hsieh, employs a half-penetrating space design concept to create distinct public and private zones within a compact 90-square-meter footprint. The design's ingenious volumetric stacking approach maximizes spatial efficiency while maintaining clear functional separation between the professional studio and domestic areas. The interior architecture features a striking main hall that integrates the living room with an indoor balcony, utilizing extensive glazing and gray mirrors to amplify natural light penetration and create an illusion of expanded space. The project, completed in 2017 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, showcases a refined material palette including eco-friendly paint, wood veneer with steel brushing treatment, quartz tile, and strategic use of steel elements. The space programming accommodates a comprehensive suite of functions including a professional studio workspace, fitting area, living room, main bedroom, children's room, kitchen, dining area, and two bathrooms, all thoughtfully arranged to maintain optimal workflow and domestic comfort. The design's sophisticated approach to space optimization and its successful integration of professional and personal domains earned it a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its innovative solution to contemporary living and working requirements.
