Ortho ResidentiOrtho ResidentiOrtho Residenti is an award-winning residential architectural masterpiece completed in 2020, exemplifying contemporary Japanese architectural principles through its sophisticated design and thoughtful integration with its environment. The structure, distinguished by two massive offset concrete volumes featuring a board-formed finish, represents a harmonious blend of modernist aesthetics and functional living spaces. Situated on a tiered, irregularly shaped lot spanning 792.67 square meters, the residence encompasses a total floor area of 410.94 square meters distributed across two levels. The design's primary innovation lies in its creative response to the site's unique topography, incorporating a small courtyard and a large garden terrace on the south side that serve as intermediary zones, enabling residents to experience the distinctive outdoor environment of a ranch-style home while maintaining privacy. The reinforced concrete structure, developed through a comprehensive design period from March 2018 to April 2019, followed by construction from May 2019 to April 2020, demonstrates exceptional architectural merit in its spatial organization and material execution. The project, designed by Satoshi Kurosaki, garnered international recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to residential architecture through its innovative use of space, structural integrity, and aesthetic appeal. The design's success lies in its ability to create meaningful family spaces while addressing contemporary living requirements, exemplified by its thoughtful integration of indoor-outdoor living areas and its response to the specific needs of its residents.
