TwoStepTable TableTwoStepTable TableTwoStepTable Table is an innovative dining table design that exemplifies sophisticated minimalism through its distinctive structural composition and subtle aesthetic details. Created by German designer Christian Kim, this furniture piece features a unique construction method where the apron on each side of the table is asymmetrically attached to the table legs, connecting to the front of one leg and the back of another on each side. Crafted from premium European oak, the table's dimensions of 1600mm x 800mm x 760mm provide ample dining space while maintaining elegant proportions. The design's distinguishing characteristic lies in its intentionally asymmetrical side profile, which creates a visually intriguing element that emphasizes the structural connections between components. This thoughtful approach to joinery transforms a functional necessity into an aesthetic feature, demonstrating a sophisticated understanding of furniture design principles. Developed between May and December 2012 in Eindhoven and Cologne, the table made its debut at IMM Cologne in January 2013, where its innovative design approach garnered attention and subsequently earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category. The table's design excellence lies in its ability to merge functional simplicity with architectural interest, creating a piece that contributes to the evolution of contemporary furniture design through its subtle yet impactful design language.
