This ergonomically crafted plate, inspired by the organic form of a shrimp, represents a significant advancement in functional tableware design, specifically addressing the challenges encountered during standing receptions and buffet-style events. The distinctive design allows users to securely hold both a plate and a wine glass in one hand, leaving the other hand free for social interaction or food selection. Crafted from lightweight melamine material, the plate measures 235 x 210 x 10 millimeters and features a unique curved form that nestles comfortably in the palm while providing stable support for both food items and beverageware. The development process, which spanned from 2008 to 2012, involved extensive digital modeling using AutoCAD and SketchUp, followed by 3D printing for prototype testing and refinement. This innovative tableware solution, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, demonstrates exceptional consideration for social dynamics and user experience in contemporary dining scenarios.
