Pearl Inna BedPearl Inna BedPearl Inna Bed is an innovative furniture design that revolutionizes traditional sleeping space configurations through its unique sector-of-circle form factor, created by Ukrainian designer Igor Borovyk. This groundbreaking bed design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2022, represents a significant departure from conventional rectangular and round bed shapes by incorporating ergonomic principles that accommodate natural body movements during sleep. The design draws inspiration from the organic form of seashells and their pearl-bearing capacity, while its name pays homage to the designer's wife, Inna, incorporating the Ukrainian word perlina (pearl). The bed's distinctive features include an 18-degree adjustable headboard optimized for reading and meditation, a soft outer belt that doubles as a continuous bedside bench, and a spherical console that creates an illusion of floating while eliminating obstacles for leg movement. Measuring 4500mm in length, 2600mm in depth, and varying heights of 380/510/1280mm, the bed incorporates environmentally conscious materials including plywood frame ribs cut using CNC technology, volumetric cardboard for the spherical profile, and high-density foam for the mattress belt. The design's functionality extends beyond its primary purpose with integrated features such as a mobile serving table with LED illumination and full-extension storage shelves for linens and personal items. Despite its substantial dimensions, the bed's innovative design creates an optical illusion of infinite space through its curved external contour and shadow-casting spherical console, making it suitable for modern rooms as compact as 6x4 meters.
