Rhythm Of Water Residential HouseRhythm Of Water Residential HouseRhythm of Water Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural elements with contemporary living spaces, particularly focusing on the symbolic and physical presence of water throughout the design. Created by Taiwanese designer Kuo-Pin Sun, this 198-square-meter residence masterfully incorporates principles from the ancient Chinese Book of Changes, manifesting as a sophisticated interplay between traditional Eastern philosophy and modern architectural elements. The design features distinctive elements such as an L-shaped tunnel with black stone padding, creating a mysterious transition space that connects the exterior balcony to the interior. A central squared fountain serves as a focal point, representing the Chinese concept of rounded sky and squared earth, while innovative features like an acrylic bubble-inspired swing chair and a rounded plate ladder further enhance the water theme. The space is thoughtfully segmented into multiple functional areas, including a cleverly divided living room and kitchen utilizing extended bars, a heightened bedroom for privacy, and a penthouse area that serves as a multifunctional space for work, relaxation, and social interaction. The design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its exceptional integration of feng shui principles with contemporary spatial design. Notable features include three vitreous French windows that flood the space with natural light, a sophisticated outdoor area with a lotus pond, and innovative use of materials including stone, glass, mirrors, and stainless steel, all working in concert to create a tranquil urban sanctuary that seamlessly connects inhabitants with natural elements.
