Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde Office Space

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Office Space is an innovative dual-purpose corporate environment designed by Teodora Panayotova and Max Baklayan, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. This transformative 490-square-meter office space, located in Sofia, Bulgaria, embodies a revolutionary approach to contemporary workplace design by seamlessly integrating professional functionality with social engagement opportunities. The design concept draws inspiration from Robert Louis Stevenson's literary classic, manifesting as a sophisticated workspace during business hours that metamorphoses into an elegant entertainment venue after dark. The space is architecturally distributed across two levels, featuring twelve meticulously designed rooms, including a large conference room with a custom walnut table, three meeting rooms, and eight offices, complemented by a training zone and an expansive common area. The interior design philosophy embraces industrial minimalism, incorporating elements such as polished concrete, marble imitation, OSB panels, and metal rails, juxtaposed with Persian rugs to create a harmonious blend of corporate sophistication and casual comfort. The innovative lighting system, including custom work-time lights, neon installations, and LED fixtures throughout the library, plays a crucial role in facilitating the space's dual personality transformation. A prominent 6-meter island bar/kitchen finished in black marble serves as the central focal point, while glass walls and strategic lighting solutions create subtle spatial divisions without compromising the open, collaborative atmosphere. This award-winning design successfully addresses the contemporary challenges of workplace dynamics by creating an environment that promotes both professional productivity and social interaction, setting a new standard for modern office design.
