Grenada ApartmentGrenada ApartmentGrenada apartment is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies minimalist and contemporary living spaces, specifically designed for a young newlywed couple in Kuwait City. The project, completed in 2013, demonstrates a sophisticated approach to spatial organization by seamlessly integrating existing and new structural elements. The apartment encompasses a total area of 125 square meters, ingeniously divided into two distinct yet harmoniously connected sections: a 100-square-meter existing structure and a 25-square-meter addition. The design philosophy emphasizes authenticity and simplicity, manifested through a bold yet refined aesthetic approach. The existing structure houses functional spaces including an office area, kitchenette, closet room, and master bathroom, while the new addition accommodates a bedroom and living room, taking advantage of elevated ceiling heights to create an enhanced sense of spaciousness. Throughout the apartment, hardwood flooring provides a cohesive visual element, while the high ceilings in the living area and bedroom contribute to an atmosphere of openness and grandeur. The project, designed by architect Fahad Alhumaidi in collaboration with Noura Alshammari, received recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and innovative design solutions. The design successfully balances functional requirements with aesthetic considerations, creating a living environment that reflects contemporary lifestyle needs while maintaining a strong sense of home and comfort.
