Hill Mansion Landscape DesignHill Mansion Landscape DesignHill Mansion Landscape Design is an innovative landscape architecture project located in the Qixia District of Nanjing, China, that masterfully integrates natural elements with sustainable design principles. The project, completed in 2021, draws inspiration from the region's famous red maple scenery to create an immersive landscape experience that seamlessly blends with its surroundings near the Yangtze River waterfront. The design's distinctive feature is its undulating skyline created through strategic plant placement, emphasizing the boundary-less natural experience. At its core, the project incorporates a central pool positioned at the site's lowest point, serving both aesthetic and functional purposes by collecting and purifying rainwater. The design employs sophisticated sustainability measures, including ecological permeable bricks with excellent water permeability, underground water storage modules, and solar-powered lighting systems with time-sharing control mechanisms to minimize energy consumption. The main entrance showcases a remarkable interpretation of natural elements, featuring a streamlined landscape wall that symbolically represents wind movement through valleys, forests, and water, creating an artistic impression of maple leaves carried by the breeze. The project prioritizes ecological consciousness through the use of local plant species and wild flowering vegetation, resulting in a low-maintenance yet visually striking landscape. This exemplary work of landscape architecture, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category, demonstrates exceptional innovation in sustainable landscape design while maintaining strong aesthetic appeal and functionality. The design's sophisticated water management system, including the pool's additional water storage module, ensures efficient water utilization during periods of limited rainfall, exemplifying the project's commitment to environmental stewardship and practical sustainability.
