Sense of Peace Residential is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies contemporary residential architecture through its masterful integration of geometric forms, natural elements, and thoughtful spatial planning. Located in Zhubei Riparian, Hsinchu County Taiwan, this sophisticated residential space completed in March 2020 demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its pursuit of tranquility and elegance. The design philosophy centers on the harmonious blend of straight lines, checks, and sedate color tones, creating a peaceful atmosphere that resonates throughout the entire residence. The entrance, which serves as the first impression, features a refined combination of grey and white hues complemented by warm wood materials, establishing an immediate sense of comfort. A distinctive feature of the design is the specially varnished TV semi-wall, which incorporates artistic representations of mountains, water, and clouds, seamlessly integrating natural imagery into the living space. The innovative spatial arrangement includes an open-form study that preserves river views while maintaining spatial flow, connected through a double-load corridor system. The designer, Derson Chiu, implemented several architectural innovations, including the replacement of traditional door knobs with sliding doors to enhance the geometric aesthetic and spatial efficiency. The color palette, predominantly featuring grey, black, and dark brown tones, creates a sophisticated atmosphere that promotes contemplation and serenity. This exceptional residential project, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases a masterful balance between functionality and aesthetic refinement, particularly evident in its treatment of natural light, spatial configuration, and material selection.
