BeHygeia SalonBeHygeia SalonBeHygeia Salon is an innovative interior design project that redefines the traditional beauty salon concept through its avant-garde approach to spatial design and aesthetic expression. Located in Shanghai and completed in December 2020, this 288-square-meter commercial space masterfully integrates contemporary design elements with functional requirements to create an exceptional beauty and wellness environment. The design, conceived by Chief Designer Lycent Lai, draws inspiration from the organic form of grapes, utilizing curved walls and geometric elements to express feminine beauty through architecture. The space planning emphasizes experiential design, featuring a thoughtful progression of open, transparent, semi-transparent, and private areas that create distinct zones for various salon services. The interior's sophisticated material palette includes art paint, stainless steel corrugated board, and carefully selected wallpapers, while the predominantly white color scheme is punctuated by bold blue and green accents in lighting fixtures and wall niches. The distinctive architectural arcs serve multiple purposes, adding visual interest while creating a sense of movement and vitality throughout the space. Natural light plays a crucial role in the design, working in harmony with artificial lighting to create an interplay of light and shadow that enhances the spatial experience. The project's modern aesthetic is reinforced through metal baseboards and contemporary fixtures, while the overall atmosphere promotes relaxation and wellness through its thoughtful blend of colors and comfortable environment. This innovative approach to salon design earned the project a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2022, recognizing its excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and innovative design solutions.
