Twist Console Table

Twist Console Table is an innovative and sculptural furniture piece that reimagines the traditional console table through its distinctive design featuring two twisted legs and a chamfered top. Created by designers Ipek Memikoglu and Dilsa Gunaydin Temel in 2022, this elegant piece demonstrates a harmonious blend of form and function, drawing inspiration from the dynamic movements found in the game Twister. The table's most striking feature is its unique support structure, where two twisted legs, positioned at 90-degree angles, emerge from the center and extend to opposite sides of the tabletop, creating a visually dramatic yet structurally sound foundation. The design incorporates a sophisticated metal frame with strategic cut-outs along the long sides, showcasing the material details of the chamfered tabletop, which can be crafted from either marble or colored tempered glass. Measuring 1000 mm in length, 300 mm in width, and standing at 800 mm in height, the table's proportions are carefully calculated to serve as an ideal entryway or hallway piece. The legs can be finished in either rose gold, chrome electroplated, or black powder-coated steel, offering versatility in material combinations. A concealed metal support structure beneath the tabletop ensures stability and structural integrity while maintaining the design's clean lines. This innovative approach to furniture design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, demonstrates excellence in both aesthetic appeal and functional design, successfully challenging conventional four-legged table configurations while creating a piece that serves as both functional furniture and sculptural art.
