Equality Gender Neutral Toilet

Equality Gender Neutral Toilet is an innovative interior design solution that represents a significant advancement in inclusive public facility design, specifically created for Banqiao Station in New Taipei City. This groundbreaking design, conceived by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan, exemplifies a progressive approach to public amenities that transcends traditional gender barriers while promoting accessibility for all users. The 80-square-meter facility features thoughtfully considered elements including a sophisticated signal indicator system at the entrance displaying real-time stall availability and specific toilet types, integrated with a centralized sink counter designed to accommodate users of various heights, including children. The space employs a carefully curated color palette, circulation planning, and lighting scheme that creates a welcoming, neutral atmosphere, while advanced technical features such as individual stall ventilation systems maintain optimal environmental conditions. The design incorporates sustainable elements, notably a innovative green wall system at the mirror area that utilizes gray water from the sinks, demonstrating a commitment to environmental responsibility. The facility's construction utilizes high-quality materials including ceramic tiles and high-density plastic partition walls, ensuring durability and maintenance efficiency. This design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a significant milestone in sustainable urban development and social inclusion, serving as a model for future public facility design that prioritizes equality, accessibility, and environmental consciousness.
