Magnificent Scenery Residence

Magnificent Scenery Residence is an exemplary interior design project that masterfully integrates classical European aesthetics, oriental landscape imagery, and Middle Eastern influences into a sophisticated 214-square-meter residential space in Taiwan. Completed in 2021 by designer Yi-Chien Kang, this innovative renovation transforms a 25-year-old apartment into a harmonious dwelling that artfully addresses the clients' passion for classical style, art, and music. The design's conceptual foundation draws inspiration from natural elements, incorporating mountain, water, and desert motifs throughout the space. The entrance features striking black and white curved columns symbolizing the Chinese concept of mountain-water harmony, while the dining room showcases desert-inspired textures and limestone walls with distinctive concave-convex patterns. The residence's thoughtful layout includes two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and an audio-visual room, with the public areas featuring elegant dark tones complemented by lustrous stone and metal finishes. The private spaces are personalized to reflect the occupants' preferences, with the masculine area featuring classical molding in brown and gray tones, while the feminine space incorporates mint green hues and a specialized sliding door system for art display. Despite the technical challenges of working with a low ceiling height and complex mechanical systems integration, the project successfully incorporates fourteen air conditioners, built-in audio systems, and fire safety equipment while maintaining aesthetic coherence. The design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial design and material selection. Notable features include a curved TV wall with diamond-cut glass details, water-ripple wood flooring, and carefully considered lighting elements that enhance the overall atmospheric quality of the space.
