Aurora Dance Residence

Aurora Dance Residence is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious coexistence of human inhabitants and their feline companions, completed in Taiwan in 2022. This sophisticated 159-square-meter living space, situated on the 15th floor, masterfully integrates technological elements with thoughtful architectural features, showcasing a distinctive approach to contemporary living. The design, created by Fu-Mei Chiu and Jian-An Li, employs an intricate interplay of materials, including solid stainless steel, titanium-plated metal, and dark wood, carefully balanced to create a refined aesthetic that caters to both human comfort and feline behavior. The residence features a meticulous attention to structural integrity, incorporating reinforced metal layers within walls and custom-designed cabinetry that demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship. The space utilizes Japanese Cement paint with moisture-absorbing and deodorizing properties, contributing to both functionality and aesthetic appeal through its unique irregular patterns. The design team's innovative approach to material integration is particularly evident in the seamless incorporation of 3mm solid stainless-steel structures and precisely fitted glass elements in corner showcases. The project, which won the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, stands out for its sophisticated implementation of adjustable lighting systems that create dynamic atmospheres while softening the metallic elements throughout the space. The residence encompasses two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a multi-functional room, with carefully considered spaces that include dedicated areas for feline exploration and rest, all while maintaining a cohesive design language that emphasizes technological integration and contemporary luxury.
