Elemental Lounge Living Room and Bar is an innovative interior design project that masterfully explores the duality of black and white to create a harmonious living space, earning recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. Conceived by Peruvian designer Erika Zielinski, this 60-square-meter installation represents a sophisticated interpretation of day and night during the equinox, when both are perfectly balanced at 12 hours each. The design's philosophical foundation draws inspiration from the contrasting approaches to interior design observed between Nordic and Russian styles, despite their similar climatic conditions. The space features custom-designed furniture and fixtures, including a signature pendant lamp crafted from transparent and smoky quartz with integrated LED illumination, symbolizing rainfall. The meticulous attention to detail is evident in the precisely crafted furnishings, such as a dual-toned velvet sofa and a striking coffee table incorporating a magnificent amethyst geode. The project demonstrates exceptional material versatility through its use of wood, iron, fabrics, pottery, fur, and precious stones, all carefully selected to create varying textures that bridge the stark contrast between black and white. This versatile space, suitable for both residential use and luxury hotel environments, showcases the designer's ability to achieve harmony through opposition, creating a memorable environment that balances natural glamour with comfort. The project's success lies in its ability to overcome the challenge of working with extreme contrast while maintaining visual coherence, achieved through the careful selection and placement of materials and textures, all crafted by skilled Peruvian artisans.
