Sakakini Fragrance PackagingSakakini Fragrance PackagingSakakini Fragrance Packaging is an innovative luxury perfume bottle design that pays homage to Egyptian architectural heritage, specifically the historic Sakakini Palace in Cairo. Created by designer Amr Ibrahim Mousa, this sophisticated packaging solution features a distinctive magnetic dome cap that precisely replicates the architectural details of the palace's iconic rococo dome, allowing users to experience a tangible connection to this significant historical landmark. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, represents a harmonious fusion of cultural preservation and contemporary luxury product design. The bottle stands 15 centimeters tall with a diameter of 5 centimeters, holding 100 milliliters of fragrance, and showcases exceptional craftsmanship through its handcrafted metal dome created by skilled artisans from Khan el-Khalili in Cairo. This unique approach to fragrance packaging serves a dual purpose: while functioning as a premium perfume container, it also acts as a vehicle for cultural preservation and awareness, with proceeds from sales contributing to the restoration efforts of the nineteenth-century Sakakini Palace. The design's most distinctive feature is its detailed reproduction of the palace's architectural elements, particularly its ornate dome adorned with Italian Rococo-style decorative elements, executed in either gold or silver-blasted finish. The project exemplifies how contemporary product design can serve as a bridge between historical preservation and modern luxury consumption, while simultaneously supporting traditional craftsmanship and raising awareness about architectural heritage.
