Greenbay HomestayGreenbay HomestayGreenbay Homestay is an architecturally distinctive accommodation facility situated in Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, China, that exemplifies harmonious integration between modern design and natural surroundings. Completed in 2021, this innovative structure spans approximately 2,700 square meters of floor area and features a striking hexagonal snowflake-inspired design that appears to float above the surrounding tea fields. The building's unique configuration provides an exceptional 270-degree panoramic view of the historic Mengding Mountain tea plantations to the south and the Sichuan-Tibet Railway to the north. The architectural composition comprises three primary functional zones arranged along the snowflake's axes, including a public area, thirteen meticulously designed guest rooms, and logistics facilities. The design's most distinctive feature is its triangular outdoor atrium, which serves as a central hub around which various spatial patterns unfold, creating a dynamic interplay of open and enclosed spaces. The interior design philosophy emphasizes simplicity and comfort through the thoughtful use of wood, white, and grey color palettes, complemented by stylish animal-shaped decorations that reinforce the connection with nature. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category in 2022, demonstrates exceptional environmental sensitivity by minimizing its ecological impact on the surrounding tea fields while maximizing visitor experience through innovative spatial design and extensive use of transparent elements. The sophisticated circulation pattern begins with a double-height lobby, transitions through a narrow corridor with an overhead bridge, and culminates in a multi-purpose hall and sloping reading area, creating a carefully orchestrated journey through space that maintains constant visual connection with the surrounding landscape.
