Flying In Dreams Levitation Photography

Flying In Dreams Levitation Photography

Flying in Dreams Levitation Photography is an innovative photographic series that explores the ethereal connection between childhood dreams and visual storytelling through advanced levitation photography techniques. Created by Canadian photographer Maxim Zinchuk, this artistic work employs sophisticated compositional methods to capture suspended moments of children in white outfits, creating a surreal and dreamlike atmosphere that reflects the purity and boundless nature of youthful aspirations. The series, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Photography and Photo Manipulation Design category, demonstrates exceptional technical prowess through its meticulous production process, involving careful location scouting, costume design, pose planning, and advanced post-processing techniques. The creative methodology involves compositing multiple images taken from identical angles, carefully masking out support elements to achieve a convincing levitation effect. Drawing inspiration from William Shakespeare's observation that all things that are, are with more spirit chased than enjoyed, the series captures the ephemeral nature of dreams and aspirations through its careful attention to lighting, composition, and emotional depth. The technical execution utilized professional equipment including a Canon EOS 5D Mark III with a 24-70mm F2.8 lens, specialized lighting setups, and advanced digital post-processing to achieve its distinctive aesthetic quality. The project, realized in Ontario, Canada between 2016-2017, represents a significant achievement in contemporary art photography, successfully merging technical excellence with conceptual depth to create a compelling narrative about the universal human experience of dreaming and aspiration.
