Aimbere Residence BuildingAimbere Residence BuildingAimbere Residence Building is a distinguished fifteen-story residential structure located in Guarapuava, ParanĂ¡, Brazil, embodying a profound connection to indigenous culture through its architectural expression. The name Aimbere, derived from Tupi-Guarani language meaning one who squirms, is masterfully interpreted in the building's dynamic design, featuring a contemporary architectural approach that manifests this concept through its distinctive twisted facade. The structure, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, encompasses 3,861 square meters of total built area on an 874-square-meter plot. The building's innovative design incorporates displaced balcony axes creating a visual sensation of rotation, while maintaining functional efficiency through its thoughtful layout of eleven typical floors, each containing two apartments ranging from 83 to 104 square meters. The upper levels feature inverted duplex apartments of 152 and 178 square meters, demonstrating sophisticated space utilization. The first two floors house extensive social amenities including a fitness center, party room, playground, and playroom, totaling 520 square meters, complemented by 816 square meters of parking space. The construction employs regional materials and techniques, utilizing reinforced concrete structural systems and masonry walls finished with tiles and paint, ensuring both practicality and architectural integrity. The building's design philosophy emphasizes harmonious integration with its surroundings while pushing the boundaries of contemporary residential architecture, exemplified by its significant front setback that creates an inviting, sun-drenched garden entrance.
