Sky Bar Roof Top RestaurantSky Bar Roof Top RestaurantSky Bar Roof Top Restaurant is an innovative architectural and interior design project that exemplifies the fusion of sustainable materials with organic patterns, situated atop a hotel in Kolhapur, India. This Silver A' Design Award-winning establishment, designed by Ketan Jawdekar and team, masterfully incorporates 20,521 recycled paper tubes in a parametric ceiling installation that pays homage to the region's textile heritage while creating a dynamic dining environment. The 1,950-square-meter space encompasses both indoor dining areas and an open-air terrace, featuring thoughtfully segmented zones including an island bar, pizza counter, and sunset deck. The design's most distinctive element is its interactive ceiling pattern, where paper tubes create undulating waves that respond to natural wind movements, establishing a captivating interplay between architecture and nature. The project demonstrates exceptional sustainable design principles through its use of recycled materials, natural stone, and wood, while the carefully engineered paper tube modules underwent specialized coating treatments to ensure durability against moisture and fire resistance. The restaurant's layout cleverly addresses spatial challenges through the strategic positioning of different functional areas, with transparent glass enclosures maintaining visual continuity throughout the space. Completed in October 2021, this architectural achievement represents a sophisticated blend of local cultural context, sustainable innovation, and contemporary design aesthetics, setting new standards in hospitality design through its unique approach to spatial experience and environmental consciousness.
