Malmo Modular TableMalmo Modular TableMalmo Modular Table is an innovative and versatile furniture piece that exemplifies the convergence of adaptable design and functional aesthetics, created by designers Liubov Borisovskaia and Olga Shchukina. This transformative desk system, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a significant advancement in modular furniture design through its ability to evolve from a children's creative workspace to a sophisticated adult desk. Crafted from high-strength ash wood and finished with Saicos oil and wax treatment, the table showcases exceptional durability and natural beauty while incorporating premium components such as hidden Blum Bluemotion full-extension slides for its drawer systems. The design draws inspiration from the clean lines characteristic of 1950s and 1960s Scandinavian furniture, featuring a thoughtfully engineered frame with a connecting shelf that accommodates various tabletop configurations. Notable technical specifications include adjustable dimensions of 1200/1500/1800 x 700 x 600/760 mm, offering flexibility in spatial arrangement. The table's sophisticated features include a deep work surface capable of accommodating numerous items, integrated wire management solutions, and a versatile 150mm high shelf suitable for printers or books. The design's modular nature is enhanced by customizable storage options, including the possibility to install either a half-cassette with a drawer or a complete three-drawer chest, available in seven standard colors to complement modern interior schemes. This adaptable furniture piece, developed between March 2020 and July 2022 in Saint-Petersburg, embodies principles of sustainability through its long-term utility and demonstrates exceptional ergonomic consideration in its connecting shelf design and overall proportions.
