Casa Della Quercia Single Family VillaCasa Della Quercia Single Family VillaCasa Della Quercia Single Family Villa is an innovative residential architectural project located in Moncalieri, Turin, Italy, that exemplifies contemporary sustainable design principles while drawing inspiration from Italian rationalist architecture of the 1930s. This 105-square-meter single-family residence, completed in 2017, is distinguished by its thoughtful integration with the natural environment, particularly its preservation of a centuries-old oak tree that serves as a focal point of the property. The villa's design emphasizes energy efficiency through multiple innovative features, including a flat roof for easy maintenance, 53-centimeter thick walls with 16-centimeter insulation, and an advanced solar panel system. The structure incorporates high-performance materials such as solid larch sunscreens, German stainless steel hardware, and laminated emlock windows with quadruple-glazed argon barrier glass. The interior layout efficiently accommodates two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a spacious living room, while large windows create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. A distinctive feature is the strategically positioned swimming pool within a protected patio area, creating a unique microclimate suitable for extended seasonal use. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, showcases advanced sustainability features including a heat pump system with underfloor heating and cooling, a water recovery system, and electric vehicle charging capabilities. The villa's design successfully overcame significant bureaucratic challenges related to its modern flat-roof architecture, ultimately creating a harmonious balance between contemporary living spaces and environmental consciousness across its 1000-square-meter plot.
