Kujdane Holiday HouseKujdane Holiday HouseKujdane Holiday House is an innovative architectural project that reimagines the traditional A-frame cabin typology through a contemporary lens, designed by Iranian architects Yaser Rashid Shomali and Yasin Rashid Shomali. Located in Gilan, Iran, this distinctive holiday residence masterfully balances traditional cabin aesthetics with modern architectural elements, featuring a striking silhouette that appears to hover effortlessly above ground level. The structure's most notable feature is its centralized glass core, which runs vertically through the building's heart, creating a unique connection between sky and ground while allowing occupants to experience natural elements such as snow and rain from within the interior spaces. The design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious integration of natural materials, predominantly utilizing wood to create a warm, inviting atmosphere, while incorporating cool-toned interior elements to achieve visual balance. The facade incorporates full-height glazing that follows the building's curving profile, maximizing natural light penetration and establishing a strong indoor-outdoor relationship. This innovative approach to holiday house design, which began development in November 2020, earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, acknowledging its exceptional contribution to contemporary residential architecture through its innovative use of space, structural integrity, and aesthetic appeal. The project exemplifies a successful fusion of traditional architectural elements with modern design sensibilities, creating a sophisticated retreat that responds thoughtfully to its natural context while providing a unique living experience that celebrates both heritage and innovation in architectural design.
