Yuan Tai Qian Sales Center

Yuan Tai Qian Sales Center is a philosophically-inspired architectural and interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Eastern cultural symbolism with contemporary spatial design principles. Located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, this 500-square-meter temporary sales facility draws its conceptual foundation from the Chinese character 'Qian,' representing the fifteenth hexagram in I-Ching and embodying the virtue of modesty in Chinese culture. The design's distinctive aesthetic language manifests through a sophisticated interplay of linear geometries and overlapping circular forms, symbolizing completeness and well-roundedness in Chinese cultural traditions. The interior space demonstrates remarkable restraint in material selection, primarily utilizing modest colors and wood veneer carpentry to create an environment that resonates with oriental literati ambiance. This thoughtful approach not only enhances the project's environmental consciousness by facilitating future demolition but also establishes a profound connection with its surroundings, particularly the adjacent city park. The design successfully balances artistic expression with pragmatic functionality, incorporating efficiently compartmentalized seating and table arrangements to serve its primary purpose as a sales center. The project, completed in November 2020, garnered international recognition by winning the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative spatial design and cultural sensitivity.
