Hong Kong DeerHill Bay ResidentialHong Kong DeerHill Bay ResidentialHong Kong DeerHill Bay Residential is an award-winning interior design project completed in 2011, distinguished by its innovative approach to spatial design and lighting in a high-rise residential setting. The project, conceived and executed by designer Alain Wong, masterfully addresses the unique challenges of Hong Kong's urban living spaces while creating an environment that reflects the client's personality and travel experiences. The design's centerpiece is an irregular false ceiling with integrated light troughs that extends from the ceiling to the wall, taking advantage of the rare high floor height found in Hong Kong residential properties. This architectural element creates a dramatic visual impact while serving as a metaphorical canvas for the inhabitant's life experiences. The interior scheme employs a sophisticated neutral palette of white and beige, punctuated by black and grey furnishings with clean lines and proportions, creating a harmonious and contemporary living environment. The master bedroom showcases exceptional space optimization, combining two consecutive rooms while addressing the challenges presented by a curvy architectural window structure in a long, narrow space. The bedroom's layout intelligently incorporates a king-size bed as a natural divider between a study area and a walk-in closet, demonstrating remarkable spatial planning. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in residential interior design through its thoughtful integration of functionality, aesthetics, and personal narrative, while maintaining a strong focus on human-oriented design principles that enhance daily living experiences.
