Commod – Feines In Holz Stationery

commod – Feines in Holz Stationery is an innovative and sophisticated stationery design system that exemplifies the fusion of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design aesthetics. Created by designer Jens Lattke in 2011, this distinctive stationery collection embodies the essence of fine woodworking through its materiality and visual language. The design features premium materials, including 100 percent cotton paper that provides a uniquely tactile experience, and envelopes crafted from genuine wood veneer, creating an immediate connection to natural materials. The business cards incorporate an ingenious three-dimensional design element, transforming from a flat surface into a cubic form that showcases interior design possibilities through miniature room representations. The design system maintains a refined yet playful layout, utilizing specially blended colors that complement the natural wood elements while adhering to minimalist principles. The standard dimensions of 210x297mm for letterheads, 91x50mm for business cards, and 230x115mm for envelopes ensure practical functionality alongside aesthetic excellence. This sophisticated stationery system, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and innovative material applications. The design successfully communicates the essence of fine woodworking through its tactile qualities and visual elements, while the three-dimensional business card serves as both a communication tool and a desktop sculpture that embodies the craftsmanship it represents.
