Taxi Taxi StationTaxi Taxi StationTaxi Taxi Station is an innovative architectural design solution that reimagines the traditional taxi stand through a sophisticated integration of form and function in urban environments. Designed by Dr. Hakan Gürsu, this iconic structure employs graphic elements that serve both visual and structural purposes, creating a distinctive presence within the urban fabric while maintaining practical functionality. The design, which won the Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, exemplifies a universal design language that transforms the conventional taxi station concept into a contemporary urban landmark. The structure features a dynamic composition utilizing steel profiles for construction and incorporates LED lighting for enhanced visibility during nighttime operations. Its adaptable design comes in two different sizes to accommodate varying spatial requirements and urban contexts. The station's comprehensive facilities include a waiting lounge, office space, personal cabins for drivers, lavatory, changing room, storage area, kitchen, and resting area, all thoughtfully arranged to maximize comfort and efficiency. Environmental considerations are evident in its innovative features, such as vertical and horizontal plant integration, and a rainwater collection system that supports the facility's water consumption needs. The technical infrastructure is cleverly concealed within an installation floor between the ceiling and roof, maintaining clean aesthetics while preventing visual pollution. This architectural solution demonstrates exceptional attention to both user experience and environmental sustainability, while contributing positively to the urban landscape through its modern aesthetic and functional design elements.
