Secret Plan For A Thousand Years Healty FoodsSecret Plan For A Thousand Years Healty FoodsSecret plan for a thousand years Healty Foods is an innovative packaging design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Oriental aesthetics with contemporary design sensibilities. Created by the Woongjin Food Design Team in South Korea in 2010, this sophisticated packaging solution for red ginseng products incorporates the ancient Korean artistic technique of Na-jeon-chil-gi (lacquerware inlaid with mother-of-pearl) into its visual language. The design conceptually divides the product grades using meaningful Korean words - 'Hui' (joy), 'Ae' (love), and 'Rak' (pleasure) - corresponding to the varying qualities of red ginseng roots based on their form and color. The packaging, measuring 265 mm x 231 mm x 46 mm and crafted from paper and PET materials, features artistic interpretations of the ten traditional Symbols of Longevity from Oriental culture, rendered in a modern aesthetic while maintaining their cultural significance. This design approach not only preserves the traditional method of decocting unique to Oriental red ginseng processing but also creates a visual narrative that connects ancient wisdom with contemporary consumer expectations. The project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2012, demonstrates exceptional achievement in combining functional efficiency with cultural preservation, making it a significant contribution to the field of packaging design that bridges traditional and modern design paradigms.
