Located in Shenzhen, China, this 2,455-square-foot space, completed in 2012, represents a sophisticated fusion of functionality and artistic expression. The design philosophy centers on the concept that scissors transcend their utilitarian purpose in a salon setting to become powerful aesthetic elements that symbolize the creative potential of hairstyling. The interior space features an intricate interplay of virtual and actual scissors motifs, realized through a carefully curated selection of materials including brush lacquer painting, tiles, mirror, glass, and stainless steel. The design team's innovative approach transforms the conventional salon environment into an artistic installation that celebrates the craft of hairstyling while creating an elegant, contemporary atmosphere. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category demonstrates exceptional spatial organization, material selection, and conceptual depth.
